A fully hand-textured stylized motel building, modeled and painted in Blender without any pre-made assets or tutorial guidance. Inspired by a single reference image to test my storytelling and creative pipeline control.

Tools Used:

Blender (Modeling, UV Mapping, Hand Painting)

Cycles Render, Custom Shader Nodes

Techniques:

  • Hand-painted textures (no pre-made materials)
  • PBR workflow where necessary
  • Custom UV unwrapping for signage and props
  • Environmental storytelling via signs and details

Challenges Overcome:

  • Created beer sign, tattoo board, and broken window boards from scratch
  • Optimized topology for stylized silhouette
  • Designed lighting setup to reflect atmosphere (sunset/neon night)

“This was a vision-first project. I challenged myself to build an entire game-ready stylized asset from scratch using only a reference image. Every texture, sign, and surface was manually painted. No pre-made materials, no tutorials — just creative intuition and discipline.”
